Day 2

The day started where yesterday left off: Inputs and Outputs to help plan for vertical teams.

We split into two groups to discuss this. There are notes and files out there, so please respond with either a link to a google doc or an attachment.

At 2:00 pm, we reconvened. We watched a video:


...and practiced adapting AP questions into Pre AP questions.

Day 1

After an introduction and talking about our goals for the seminar, we defined a few terms:

Preview: Introduce the topic AND engage the student.
Teach: Teacher coordinates learning of new material.
Review: Student-led discussion about or practice of material.
Reteach: Teacher-led discussion about or practice of material.
Proficiency: Being able to complete a task 90% of the time.

We also began to look at the incomes and outcomes we expect (in a perfect world) for each level in middle and high school math.
